BIAS Co-creation Workshop: Building a Trustworthy AI Recruitment Platform

In an exciting development for AI-driven recruitment, the BIAS Project hosted a virtual co-creation workshop on October 29, 2024. The focus? “Business Modelling for a Trustworthy AI-Powered Recruitment Platform” — bringing together the brightest minds across Europe to shape the future of ethical hiring. 🎯 

Picture this: 🖥️ A virtual room pulsing with energy as participants from academia, SMEs, industry leaders, HR professionals, worker representatives, and regulatory bodies gathered to collaborate. Their shared mission was crafting a comprehensive stakeholder and SWOT analysis to build sustainable, ethical AI recruitment platforms. 

The workshop opened an introduction to the project and workshop from the host Soumya Kanti Datta, Digiotouch. It was followed by a scholarly presentation from Prof. Pınar Øztürk (NTNU) who explored the intricate balance of fair and interpretable AI in recruitment systems. Building on this foundation, Dr. Carlotta Rigotti from Leiden University provided crucial insights into the AI Act and its implications for workplace technology. 🎓 

The real discussions happened in the breakout sessions! 🤝 Participants were divided into focused groups for mapping stakeholders and developing detailed SWOT analyses. The diversity of professional perspectives created a rich tapestry of insights, challenges, and opportunities in AI recruitment.
